This two-tiered coffee bar is one of the premium providers of specialty coffee in Paris. Opened in late 2012 by the talented Thomas Lehoux, who had previously worked at La Caféothèque and Eggs&Co., Ten Belles aims to provide its customers with consistently high quality coffee in a cool, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The assortment of sweet and savoury food options, including an excellent, authentic and sufficiently-sized sausage roll, will help to keep your belly happy. In the meantime, allow your ears to indulge in the sweet tunes flowing throughout the café, and take advantage of the lack of wifi to get to know your fellow coffee consumer. If you prefer to fly solo, grab a seat outside and observe the local bobo and hipster populations as they go about their business in the gloriously gentrified area of Canal St. Martin.
Thomas, who trained as a barista in Australia and has since played a big part in bringing good coffee to Paris, has created a space that makes customers want to share his passion for coffee. Even when they’re completely under the pump, the trendy and friendly staff members always take the time to exchange a few words, and really leave you feeling like that beautiful cup of coffee was made especially for you.
Given the outstanding quality of the coffee and food, the smiling staff members and the hiptastic location, it’s no surprise Ten Belles has become such a popular local hangout.
